We need your help - call Governor Walker & Lt. Governor Mallott

Governor Walker and Lt. Governor Mallott still have not taken the simple step of requesting, in writing, that the U.S. government defend Alaska’s transboundary salmon rivers with enforceable protections. We’ve delivered nearly ten thousand of your signatures to this administration, but clearly we need to increase the pressure. We must show the Governor and Lt. Governor that Southeast Alaska is a strong and unified front when it comes to defending one of our greatest resources: wild salmon.
Phone calls have the highest impact on the decisions made by elected officials. Making this phone call will only take a minute or two of your time.

Talking Points

Hello, my name is __________, I live in ___________ and I'm calling the Governor/Senator to:
  • Let him know how important wild healthy salmon are to my way of life (make your message as personal as possible);
  • My borough assembly just passed a resolution supporting federal action on the issue of Canadian mines in our transboundary watersheds for the second time in three years and;
  • I'm calling to ask the Governor/Senator to follow our lead and formally request that the U.S. government defend our transboundary salmon rivers with enforceable protections.
